to better define their purpose, mission and goals
The strategic communications firm Marmillion + Company today launched a five-year expansion plan to meet the strategic communication needs of national associations, trade groups, advocacy organizations, nonprofits and membership organizations. The company created a new management position and is establishing an office in the Rocky Mountain region.
Chairman and Founder Valsin A. Marmillion, who started the boutique full-service communications and public affairs firm more than 20 years ago, said the current economic, political and social climate creates uncertainty that these groups want and need to address.
“Our firm is uniquely positioned to help organizations under pressure to meet increasing competition and demands in a challenging environment,” Marmillion said. “Our service is built on a blend of relevant research and imaginative skills that lead to innovative solutions. We have a track record of making our clients stand out in a crowded field.”
In response to meet this growing need, Marmillion announced his firm has established a presence in Denver. He currently has operations in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Fort Lauderdale.
Gene Rose, formerly communications director for the National Conference of State Legislatures in Denver, is now Executive Vice President of Marmillion + Company. He will work in Denver and be responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the company and, working with Marmillion, execute the strategy to grow the company’s business.
Rose, a former journalist, said he will draw on his nearly 30 years of experience of communications in the public sector to identify services and products for new clients.
“Organizations often find themselves in precarious chess games with formidable opponents,” he said. “With our knowledge and ability to develop and execute a plan, we know how to create a wining strategy.”
Marmillion + Company specializes in environment, energy, arts, education, healthcare, government, political and grass root public education and outreach . It currently heads the America’s WETLAND Foundation, an effort to address the devastating loss of Louisiana's coastal wetlands and its resulting economic impact to the rest of the nation. The firm has won several prestigious awards for its work, including two top of field Silver Anvil awards and PR News recognition as Best National Public Service Campaign. It has performed strategic planning for the nation’s most prominent state and local government associations, created the successful award winning Y2K & YOU campaign to reduce technological vulnerabilities and a White House national youth initiative to imagine life on Mars in 2050.
“We practice both the fundamentals and reach new media audience with our knowledge of the latest communications, branding and marketing techniques. We know how to work to give our organizations the unequal advantage,” Marmillion said.
